In an electrifying season opener, the Chicago Bears topped the Kansas City Chiefs with a final score of 31-18. This Week 1 matchup set the tone for both teams as they looked to establish themselves early in the 2027 season. The Bears showcased their offensive prowess, capitalizing on key plays to secure the victory. Jaxson Dart was the standout performer for Chicago, throwing for 241 yards and four touchdowns, demonstrating precision and poise in the pocket. Rome Odunze was his favorite target, racking up 110 receiving yards and providing crucial catches that kept the Bears' drives alive. De'Von Achane added valuable yardage on the ground, even as the rushing game struggled to find consistent success. Defensively, the Bears held strong against Kansas City's attempts to rally back, limiting their scoring opportunities. Though Nick Bolton led the Chiefs with five total tackles, it was the Bears’ ability to pressure the quarterback and disrupt the rhythm of the Chiefs' offense that proved pivotal. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Dart connected with Odunze for a 50-yard touchdown, shifting momentum firmly in favor of Chicago.
