In a thrilling Week 13 showdown, the Detroit Lions narrowly defeated the New York Giants with a final score of 17-14. Both teams were vying for crucial playoff positioning, making this matchup a must-win for the Lions as they aim to secure their postseason spot. Detroit's C.J. Stroud led the charge with an impressive 315 passing yards, connecting effectively with standout receiver Alec Pierce, who racked up 101 receiving yards. On the other side, Giants quarterback Sam Darnold threw for two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to keep his team competitive despite the loss. Meanwhile, New York's Javonte Williams contributed significantly on the ground with 88 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to clinch the victory. The game's turning point came in the fourth quarter when the Lions' defense made a crucial stand, limiting the Giants' scoring opportunities and forcing a turnover on downs. Despite Bobby Okereke's strong performance with eight total tackles and Gabe Jacas's two sacks, New York's defense couldn't hold off the Lions' late-game drive.
