In a thrilling Week 3 matchup, the Houston Texans narrowly defeated the Indianapolis Colts by a score of 42-41, showcasing a fierce battle between two competitive teams. With both squads looking to gain momentum in the season, this victory was crucial for the Texans as they aim to solidify their position in the playoff race. Drake Maye had a standout performance for the Texans, throwing for five touchdowns and leading his team to victory. Baker Mayfield kept pace for the Colts with an impressive 398 passing yards, but it was Jayden Higgins who stole the show as he racked up 193 receiving yards, proving to be a reliable target throughout the contest. J.D. Callaway also contributed significantly to the Texans' offense with 88 rushing yards, helping to keep the chains moving. Defensively, the Texans made key stops, with Dexter Lawrence II recording two sacks that disrupted Mayfield's rhythm. The turning point in the game came late in the fourth quarter when Houston's defense tightened up, forcing a critical turnover that allowed them to maintain their slim lead. Marlon Humphrey's interception for the Colts was a significant moment, but ultimately it was not enough to overcome the Texans' late-game resilience.
