In a thrilling season opener, the New York Giants narrowly defeated the Dallas Cowboys 27-26, setting the tone for an exciting 2026 campaign. Both teams showcased their strengths, but it was the Giants who ultimately held off a late-game surge from Dallas to secure the victory. Dak Prescott was the standout for the Cowboys, throwing for 296 yards and three touchdowns, displaying his ability to lead the offense effectively. George Pickens was a key target, racking up 192 receiving yards, while Cam Skattebo contributed on the ground with 42 rushing yards for the Giants, helping to balance their attack. Defensively, the Giants were able to apply pressure, with Abdul Carter recording 1.5 sacks, which played a crucial role in disrupting Prescott's rhythm. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Cowboys attempted a game-winning drive, but a timely interception by DaRon Bland sealed the Giants' victory, showcasing the importance of both defensive stands and opportunistic plays.
