In a high-scoring affair, the Los Angeles Chargers topped the Houston Texans 55-39 in Week 7 of the 2027 season. The victory keeps the Chargers firmly in the playoff hunt, showcasing their explosive offense against a struggling Texans defense. Justin Herbert was the star of the night, throwing for an impressive 368 yards and five touchdowns, connecting frequently with Oronde Gadsden, who racked up 147 receiving yards. While the Chargers' ground game was modest, Jonathan Taylor contributed key yardage to keep the chains moving, adding to an overall dominant offensive performance. Defensively, the Chargers were led by Akheem Mesidor, who registered three total tackles and a sack, putting pressure on the Texans' quarterback throughout the game. The turning point came in the second quarter when Herbert threw two touchdown passes in quick succession, allowing Los Angeles to establish a lead they would not relinquish. Despite Kamari Ramsey's two interceptions for Houston, their defense struggled to contain the Chargers' prolific offense on this night.
