In a decisive Week 9 matchup, the Washington Commanders topped the Los Angeles Rams with a final score of 42-21, asserting their dominance in the 2026 season. With playoff implications looming, the Commanders seized the opportunity to bolster their standing in the league. Jayden Daniels led the charge for Washington, throwing for 133 yards and tossing two touchdown passes, effectively orchestrating the offense. While the Rams found some success on the ground with Will Shipley rushing for 68 yards and Tyler Scott contributing 78 receiving yards, it wasn't enough to keep pace with the Commanders' scoring barrage. Defensively, the Commanders were bolstered by a critical interception from Mike Sainristil, which halted a potential Rams comeback and shifted momentum firmly in favor of Washington. The turning point came late in the second quarter when the Commanders forced a turnover, allowing them to extend their lead and ultimately seal the victory. The Rams' defense struggled to contain the Commanders' explosive plays, leading to a frustrating night on the field.
