In a commanding display, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Atlanta Falcons 49-20 in Week 7 of the 2026 season. With this victory, the 49ers solidified their position as a top contender, showcasing their offensive prowess and strategic dominance throughout the game. Quarterback Brock Purdy led the charge for San Francisco, throwing for an impressive 393 yards and four touchdowns. His connection with wide receiver Trey Palmer was pivotal, as Palmer racked up 161 receiving yards, consistently finding space to exploit the Falcons' secondary. The 49ers' offensive line provided Purdy with ample protection, allowing him to execute their game plan effectively. Defensively, the 49ers made their presence felt, particularly through DeForest Buckner, who recorded three sacks, disrupting Atlanta's offensive rhythm. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Buckner's relentless pressure forced a turnover on downs, allowing San Francisco to capitalize and extend their lead. Despite a strong effort from Atlanta's Bijan Robinson, the 49ers' defense was able to contain the Falcons, ensuring the outcome was never in doubt.
