In a commanding performance, the Los Angeles Chargers topped the Houston Texans 49-16 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. This victory keeps the Chargers firmly in the playoff conversation as they continue to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season. On offense, Justin Herbert was the star of the night, throwing for four touchdown passes and leading his team to a decisive victory. Jalen Milroe of the Texans also put up impressive numbers, racking up 263 passing yards and adding 55 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the Chargers’ explosive offense. Nico Collins stood out as well, catching for 97 yards, showcasing his ability to be a reliable target. Defensively, the Chargers were relentless, led by Genesis Smith, who recorded a team-high 10 total tackles. The turning point came when Isaiah Johnson intercepted Milroe, shifting the momentum firmly in favor of Los Angeles. With Danielle Hunter's lone sack for Houston, the Chargers' defense effectively stifled their opponent's offensive efforts, sealing a dominating win.
