In a decisive Week 8 matchup, the Las Vegas Raiders topped the New York Jets 31-14, solidifying their position in the playoff race. The victory was crucial for the Raiders as they aim to maintain momentum heading into the second half of the season. Fernando Mendoza led the charge for Las Vegas, throwing for 232 yards and four touchdown passes, showcasing his elite arm and precision. Mike Washington Jr. added a solid ground game with 74 rushing yards, providing balance to the Raiders’ offensive attack. Despite the Jets' efforts, it was the Raiders' offensive firepower that proved too much to handle. Defensively, the Raiders stifled the Jets’ attempts to mount a comeback, forcing key turnovers and keeping New York off the scoreboard in critical moments. The game shifted in the second quarter when the Raiders scored back-to-back touchdowns, which put them firmly in control. Although David Bailey recorded two sacks for the Jets, it wasn’t enough to turn the tide against a Raiders team that executed their game plan effectively.
