In a tightly contested matchup, the San Francisco 49ers narrowly defeated the Arizona Cardinals 27-21 in Week 5 of the 2027 season. The victory keeps the 49ers firmly in the playoff race, while the Cardinals suffer a tough setback in their bid for postseason contention. Dante Moore led the charge for San Francisco, throwing for 290 yards and showcasing his prowess in the pocket. He connected with Elijah Higgins for 80 receiving yards, while Christian McCaffrey contributed a solid ground game with 80 rushing yards. Trinidad Chambliss kept the Cardinals competitive, tossing three touchdown passes and proving to be a constant threat throughout the game. Defensively, Princewill Umanmielen was a standout for the 49ers, recording two sacks that helped stifle Arizona's offensive rhythm at critical moments. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Umanmielen's pressure led to a crucial turnover, allowing the 49ers to maintain their lead and secure the win. Budda Baker's six tackles for the Cardinals underscored their defensive efforts, but it ultimately wasn't enough to overcome San Francisco's offensive firepower.
