In a decisive Week 18 showdown, the Seattle Seahawks topped the Detroit Lions with a commanding 41-20 victory, securing their playoff positioning as the regular season came to a close. Both teams entered the game with high stakes, but it was the Seahawks who showcased their dominance on both sides of the ball. Leading the charge for Seattle was quarterback Sam Darnold, who threw for 298 yards and two touchdowns, effectively orchestrating the offense. He found his favorite target, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who racked up an impressive 143 receiving yards, consistently breaking free for big plays. While the Lions' Justice Haynes put forth a strong effort with 124 rushing yards, it wasn't enough to keep pace with Seattle's explosive attack. Defensively, Seattle made key plays that shifted the momentum, highlighted by Nick Emmanwori's interception that halted a potential Lions scoring drive. The Seahawks' defense also managed to apply pressure throughout the game, limiting Darnold's counterpart and forcing crucial mistakes. Ultimately, it was a combination of effective offensive execution and timely defensive stops that propelled Seattle to a convincing win.
