In a Week 3 showdown of the 2026 season, the San Francisco 49ers dominated the Arizona Cardinals with a final score of 42-20. The victory is crucial for the 49ers as they look to establish themselves as a formidable force in the NFC West early in the season. Brock Purdy was the star of the night for San Francisco, throwing for 246 yards and an impressive four touchdown passes, showcasing his ability to efficiently lead the offense. Christian McCaffrey also made a significant impact on the ground, racking up 156 rushing yards, while Mike Evans added 75 receiving yards to bolster the receiving corps. Together, they formed a potent offensive unit that kept the Cardinals' defense on its heels. On the defensive side, the 49ers were able to apply consistent pressure, with Nick Bosa contributing a sack to disrupt the Cardinals' rhythm. Meanwhile, the game turned in favor of San Francisco when Purdy connected on a critical touchdown pass that widened the gap, making it difficult for Arizona to mount a comeback. Despite Andrew Wingard’s standout performance with six tackles for the Cardinals, the 49ers' defensive efforts, combined with their offensive prowess, ultimately sealed the victory.
