In a thrilling Week 3 matchup, the San Francisco 49ers narrowly defeated the Arizona Cardinals 44-41, solidifying their position in the early season race. Both teams showcased their offensive prowess, but it was the 49ers who ultimately held off the Cardinals in a contest that featured multiple lead changes and standout performances. Joe Milton of the Cardinals put on a show with 304 passing yards and three touchdowns, but it was Christian McCaffrey who stole the spotlight for San Francisco, racking up an impressive 224 rushing yards. Mike Evans also made his mark, contributing significantly with 141 receiving yards, making key catches that propelled the 49ers' offensive efforts throughout the game. Defensively, Renardo Green led the 49ers with five total tackles, helping to stifle Arizona's late-game pushes. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when San Francisco's defense forced a crucial three-and-out, allowing their offense to run down the clock and secure the victory. Despite Josh Sweat's lone sack and Kei'Trel Clark's interception for Arizona, it was San Francisco's ability to make timely stops that ultimately sealed the win.
