In a stunning display of offensive firepower, the Los Angeles Rams topped the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 49-15 in Week 1 of the 2026 season. With both teams looking to make a statement early in the year, the Rams established dominance, showcasing their high-octane offense. Matthew Stafford delivered a remarkable performance, throwing for 575 yards and seven touchdowns, connecting with Puka Nacua for an impressive 375 receiving yards. Christian McCaffrey led the ground game for the 49ers with 81 rushing yards, but it was clear that the Rams' aerial attack overwhelmed San Francisco's defense throughout the contest. Defensively, the Rams made impactful plays, with Kobie Turner recording two sacks to stifle the 49ers' offensive rhythm. The turning point came early in the second quarter, when a crucial interception by Malik Mustapha of the 49ers was negated by a swift Rams response, allowing Stafford to find the end zone once again. The Rams' relentless pressure and opportunistic defense ultimately sealed a decisive victory in their season opener.
