In a commanding performance, the Seattle Seahawks topped the New England Patriots 35-14 in Week 1 of the 2026 season. This matchup marked an important opener for both teams, as the Seahawks looked to establish dominance early in the year while the Patriots aimed to find their footing. Drake Maye of the Patriots shone brightly despite the loss, accumulating 230 passing yards and throwing two touchdown passes. Hunter Henry was a standout target, racking up an impressive 153 receiving yards, showcasing the Patriots' ability to move the ball through the air. TreVeyon Henderson also contributed on the ground with 68 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the Seahawks' offense. Defensively, the Patriots struggled to contain the Seahawks’ scoring attack, which capitalized on key opportunities throughout the game. The turning point came in the second quarter when Seattle scored two quick touchdowns, shifting momentum decisively in their favor. While Craig Woodson led the Patriots with five tackles, the defense was unable to generate significant pressure or force turnovers, allowing the Seahawks to control the game and secure a comfortable victory.
