In a commanding performance, the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Washington Commanders 42-21 in Week 3 of the 2026 season. This matchup was crucial for both teams as the Seahawks aimed to solidify their position in the playoff race, while the Commanders sought to bounce back from an early-season slump. Seattle's offense showcased their firepower, leaving no doubt about their intentions. Leading the charge for the Seahawks was quarterback Jalen Milroe, who threw for an impressive 402 yards and five touchdowns, demonstrating his ability to stretch the field and connect with his receivers. Tory Horton emerged as his primary target, racking up 107 receiving yards. The duo's chemistry was evident, as they consistently exploited Washington's secondary, putting the game out of reach early on. Defensively, the Seahawks were able to apply pressure, with Derick Hall recording a sack that disrupted Washington's offensive rhythm. The turning point came midway through the second quarter when a critical interception by Washington’s Jalen Pitre was quickly overshadowed by Seattle's relentless scoring, leaving the Commanders unable to recover. Seattle's defense held firm, allowing just 21 points while forcing the Commanders to abandon their ground game, which was led by Jacory Croskey-Merritt's modest 27 rushing yards.
