In a dominant display, the Detroit Lions topped the Arizona Cardinals 56-17 in Week 5 of the 2026 season. With this victory, the Lions not only solidified their position in the playoff race but also showcased their offensive firepower against a struggling Cardinals squad. Leading the charge for Detroit was Derrick Henry, who put on a remarkable performance with 230 rushing yards, making him a nightmare for the Cardinals' defense. Quarterback Jared Goff contributed significantly with two touchdown passes, while Arizona's Carson Beck threw for 262 yards but struggled to keep pace with the Lions’ explosive offense. Trey McBride stood out for Arizona with 116 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough to shift the momentum. Defensively, the Lions were relentless, with Aidan Hutchinson recording 1.5 sacks and Tre'Davious White grabbing two interceptions, which helped stifle any hope of a Cardinals comeback. The turning point came in the second quarter when White's interceptions led to quick scores for Detroit, effectively putting the game out of reach. The Lions' defense, combining pressure and opportunistic play, was instrumental in sealing this commanding victory.
