The Detroit Lions secured a decisive 22-7 victory over the New York Jets in Week 3 of the 2026 season. This win solidifies the Lions’ position in the playoff race, while the Jets face mounting pressure as they struggle to find their rhythm early in the year. Jaxson Dart led the Lions' offensive effort with 169 passing yards, showcasing a strong command of the field. Matthew Stafford managed to connect for a touchdown, but the Jets struggled to find consistent offensive flow, with Kyren Williams leading the rushing attack with only 30 yards. Hunter Henry stood out among the receivers for New York, racking up 55 yards but unable to convert that into points. Defensively, the Lions made key plays that turned the tide in their favor, particularly with Jacob Rodriguez’s interception, which helped shift momentum. The Jets’ defense, led by Carlton Davis III with six total tackles, kept the game competitive, but ultimately couldn’t contain Detroit's efficient scoring. The turning point came in the second half when the Lions capitalized on a Jets turnover, extending their lead and putting the game out of reach.
