In a tightly contested battle, the Houston Texans topped the Cincinnati Bengals 16-9 in Week 2 of the 2026 season. The victory was crucial for both teams as they look to establish momentum early in the year. Houston's performance solidified their standing in the league, showcasing their ability to grind out a win against a formidable opponent. Leading the charge for the Texans was quarterback Joe Milton, who threw for 210 yards and a touchdown, effectively managing the offense throughout the game. Wide receiver Xavier Worthy proved to be a reliable target, racking up 71 receiving yards and playing a vital role in sustaining drives. The Texans' ability to capitalize on opportunities was key to their success. Defensively, the Bengals struggled to contain Houston's offense, but standout performances were not entirely absent. Jared Verse recorded two sacks, applying consistent pressure on Milton, while Nate Wiggins anchored the defense with eight total tackles. However, the game's turning point came when Houston's defense held the Bengals to a critical three-and-out late in the fourth quarter, allowing the Texans to maintain their lead and secure the victory.
