In a decisive Week 17 showdown, the Detroit Lions topped the Chicago Bears 34-17, solidifying their playoff positioning as the season nears its conclusion. The Lions showcased their offensive prowess, while the Bears struggled to keep pace in a critical matchup that could impact their postseason hopes. Jared Goff led the Lions’ charge, throwing for 232 yards and two touchdowns, effectively spreading the ball around to keep the Bears' defense on its heels. Isaac TeSlaa was his favorite target, racking up 85 receiving yards, while D'Andre Swift managed to put up impressive numbers on the ground for Chicago with 110 rushing yards, though it ultimately wasn't enough to secure a victory. Defensively, the Lions made their presence felt, with Aidan Hutchinson standing out by recording 1.5 sacks to disrupt the Bears’ rhythm. Chicago's defense had moments, with Xavier Woods leading with six total tackles and Kyler Gordon grabbing an interception, but the turning point came when Goff connected for a critical touchdown late in the second quarter, giving the Lions the momentum they would not relinquish.
