In a dominant performance, the Kansas City Chiefs topped the Minnesota Vikings 49-21 in Week 2 of the 2027 season. With this victory, the Chiefs continue to assert their prowess in the league, showcasing their explosive offense and strategic depth against a struggling Vikings team. Leading the charge for Kansas City was quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who threw for 316 yards and four touchdowns, displaying pinpoint accuracy and command in the pocket. Running back Kenneth Walker added to the offensive explosion with 113 rushing yards, while wide receiver Xavier Worthy emerged as a favorite target, racking up 129 receiving yards and a touchdown, helping to set the tone early in the game. Defensively, the Chiefs were impactful, with Chamarri Conner intercepting a pass that shifted momentum in their favor. Although the Vikings' Jakobe Thomas led the game with seven tackles and Caleb Banks recorded a sack, their efforts were not enough to slow down Kansas City's relentless attack. The turning point came in the second quarter when Mahomes connected with Worthy for a long touchdown, effectively putting the game out of reach as the Chiefs established a commanding lead.
