In a thrilling season opener, the Atlanta Falcons topped the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-20, kicking off the 2026 campaign with a statement victory. Both teams showcased their offensive prowess, but Atlanta's balanced attack proved too much for Pittsburgh to handle. Bijan Robinson was the standout on the ground for the Falcons, racking up an impressive 117 rushing yards that helped maintain momentum throughout the game. Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers had a strong performance for the Steelers, throwing for 220 yards and two touchdowns, but it was DK Metcalf who stole the spotlight in the air, amassing 148 receiving yards despite the loss. Defensively, T.J. Watt was a force for Pittsburgh, recording two sacks and an interception, but the Steelers couldn't fully capitalize on his efforts. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when the Falcons' defense stiffened, forcing a crucial turnover that allowed Atlanta to extend their lead and ultimately secure the victory. With Week 1 in the books, both teams will look to build on their performances moving forward.
