In a tightly contested matchup, the Atlanta Falcons narrowly defeated the Washington Commanders 13-7 in Week 15 of the 2026 season. Both teams were vying for a crucial win as they pushed towards the playoffs, but it was the Falcons who emerged victorious in this defensive battle. Bo Nix led the Commanders' offense, throwing for 183 yards and a touchdown, but it was not enough to secure a win. Kyren Williams paced the Falcons on the ground with 35 rushing yards, while Noah Fant was the top receiver for Washington, racking up 58 yards through the air. Despite the offensive efforts, neither team could find significant rhythm, leading to a low-scoring affair. The Falcons' defense proved to be the difference-maker in this contest, highlighted by Osa Odighizuwa's dominant performance, recording three sacks. Jaden Hicks also contributed with an interception that shifted momentum in Atlanta's favor. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Hicks picked off Nix, setting up the Falcons for a crucial score that ultimately sealed their victory.
