In a decisive Week 9 matchup, the Los Angeles Chargers topped the Houston Texans 21-7, solidifying their position in the playoff race. The Chargers' victory came with crucial implications as both teams jockey for playoff seeding in the competitive AFC landscape. Bryce Young led the Chargers' offense with a steady performance, throwing for one touchdown while managing the game effectively. On the ground, TreVeyon Henderson of the Texans stood out with 106 rushing yards, demonstrating his ability to move the chains. Despite Goff's 205 passing yards and Colston Loveland's 57 receiving yards, the Texans struggled to find the end zone, ultimately limiting their scoring opportunities. Defensively, the Chargers made their presence felt, with Greg Rousseau notching two sacks and Amik Robertson intercepting two passes, disrupting the Texans' rhythm. The turning point came in the second half when Robertson's second interception led to a quick touchdown drive, extending the Chargers' lead and putting the game out of reach for Houston. Daiyan Henley's four tackles added to a strong defensive effort that kept the Texans at bay throughout the contest.
