In a thrilling Week 7 clash, the Washington Commanders narrowly defeated the Dallas Cowboys 31-28, solidifying their position in the playoff hunt. The stakes were high as both teams aimed to improve their season records, but it was the Commanders who came out on top in a closely contested battle. Dak Prescott of the Cowboys showcased his skills with an impressive performance, throwing for 320 yards and four touchdowns. Despite his efforts, the Cowboys struggled to establish a ground game, leaving them reliant on Prescott's arm. Meanwhile, Chigoziem Okonkwo emerged as a standout for the Commanders, racking up 114 receiving yards and providing crucial big plays when it mattered most. On the defensive side, Dorance Armstrong was a key player for Washington, registering a sack and an interception that shifted the momentum of the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Armstrong's interception halted a promising Dallas drive, allowing the Commanders to maintain their lead and ultimately secure the victory. Nick Cross also contributed with five tackles, reinforcing a defensive effort that proved pivotal in this tightly contested matchup.
