The Miami Dolphins kicked off the 2028 season with a commanding 56-32 victory over the New York Jets, showcasing their offensive firepower and leaving a strong impression early in the campaign. With both teams eager to establish themselves, this matchup was critical for setting the tone for the rest of the season. On the offensive side, Caleb Williams was the star for Miami, racking up an impressive 348 rushing yards, a feat that kept the Jets' defense on its heels all game long. Jaxson Dart of New York also had a standout performance, throwing for 340 yards and five touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the Dolphins' relentless attack. Zavion Thomas contributed significantly for the Jets, leading the receiving corps with 99 yards, but the Miami offense proved too potent. Defensively, the Dolphins made their mark with Dylan Stewart's remarkable six sacks, which disrupted the Jets' rhythm and applied constant pressure on Dart. Bray Hubard's two interceptions further tilted the game in Miami's favor, serving as crucial turnovers that shifted momentum. The turning point came in the second half when the Dolphins' defense stifled a promising Jets drive, allowing Miami to extend their lead and seal the victory.
