The Cleveland Browns kicked off the 2026 season with a solid 20-7 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. In a matchup filled with playoff implications, the Browns showcased their resilience and determination, starting the year on a high note while the Jaguars look to regroup after a tough opener. Cleveland's offense was led by quarterback Jalen Hurts, who managed to keep the game under control with 92 passing yards, complemented by a strong ground game. Breece Hall of the Jaguars put forth an impressive performance, racking up 189 rushing yards, but the lack of support in the passing game limited Jacksonville's scoring opportunities. Jake Ferguson was the top receiver for the Browns, contributing 31 yards, which was enough to keep drives alive. Defensively, Frankie Luvu's interception proved pivotal, halting any momentum the Jaguars were attempting to build. Despite Byron Murphy II's 1.5 sacks and Mack Wilson Sr's five total tackles, Jacksonville's defense was unable to contain the Browns when it mattered most. The turning point came in the second half when Luvu's pick set up a touchdown drive that effectively sealed the game for Cleveland.
