In a high-stakes showdown, the Seattle Seahawks topped the San Francisco 49ers with a commanding 42-21 victory in Week 5 of the 2026 season. This win not only boosts Seattle's momentum but also establishes them as a formidable contender in the division. Jalen Milroe led the Seahawks' offensive onslaught with a stellar performance, amassing 310 passing yards and contributing significantly to the team’s success. Meanwhile, Brock Purdy put up a valiant effort for the 49ers, throwing three touchdown passes, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Seattle's explosive offense. Jaxon Smith-Njigba was particularly impressive, racking up 168 receiving yards, showcasing his ability to stretch the field and create big plays. Defensively, the Seahawks made their presence felt with an opportunistic performance, highlighted by Nick Emmanwori's two interceptions that shifted the momentum in Seattle's favor. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Emmanwori's first pick set up a quick touchdown, allowing Seattle to pull away and maintain control for the remainder of the game. The 49ers struggled to respond, unable to match the Seahawks' intensity on both sides of the ball.
