In a thrilling Week 1 matchup, the New York Giants narrowly defeated the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 28-25. Both teams entered the season with high hopes, but it was the Giants who came out on top, establishing an early claim for divisional dominance in 2026. Quarterback Jaxson Dart led the Giants with a steady performance, throwing for one touchdown and managing the game effectively. Meanwhile, Cam Skattebo was the standout on the ground, racking up an impressive 110 rushing yards that kept the Cowboys' defense on its heels. For Dallas, Dak Prescott threw for 218 yards and kept his team competitive, but it wasn’t enough to secure the victory. Defensively, the Giants made critical plays that shifted momentum throughout the game. Tremaine Edmunds anchored the unit with nine total tackles, while Brian Burns delivered a crucial 1.5 sacks, putting pressure on Prescott and disrupting the Cowboys' rhythm. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Giants' defense held strong, forcing a turnover on downs that sealed the game for New York.
