The Cincinnati Bengals secured a hard-fought 24-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins in Week 5 of the 2026 season, keeping their playoff aspirations alive. This matchup was crucial for both teams as they jockey for position in the competitive AFC standings. Leading the Bengals' offense was quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who threw for 359 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his elite talent and ability to perform under pressure. Receiver Terry McLaurin was the primary target, racking up an impressive 159 receiving yards, making key catches that kept the chains moving and the Dolphins' defense on its heels. Meanwhile, James Cook III led Miami's ground attack with 76 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to secure a win. Defensively, the Dolphins were led by Roquan Smith, who tallied eight total tackles, but it was JT Tuimoloau's standout performance with 1.5 sacks that highlighted Miami's pass rush. The game turned in the third quarter when Mahomes connected with McLaurin for a 70-yard touchdown, giving the Bengals a lead they would not relinquish. Despite a valiant effort from Miami, including a late-game push, Cincinnati's defense held strong to seal the victory.
