In a commanding performance, the Kansas City Chiefs triumphed over the Denver Broncos with a final score of 43-14 in Week 1 of the 2026 season. The Chiefs set the tone early, showcasing their offensive prowess and sending a clear message to the league that they are contenders this year. Patrick Mahomes led the charge for Kansas City, throwing for 255 yards and facilitating the offensive onslaught. Kenneth Walker was a standout in the backfield, racking up 141 rushing yards, while Travis Kelce dominated the receiving game with 121 yards. Bo Nix managed to throw for two touchdowns for the Broncos, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with Kansas City's explosive offense. On the defensive side, the Chiefs made their presence felt, with L'Jarius Sneed snagging an interception that shifted momentum in their favor. Omarr Norman-Lott contributed with a half-sack, but the real turning point came when Kansas City’s defense stifled the Broncos' offense, allowing the Chiefs to pull away in the second half. The combination of a dynamic offense and a disciplined defense proved too much for Denver to handle.
