In a thrilling season opener, the Minnesota Vikings narrowly defeated the Green Bay Packers 22-15, showcasing their offensive prowess and solidifying a strong start to the 2026 season. The stakes were high as both teams aimed to set the tone early in the year, but it was the Vikings who emerged victorious on their home turf. Kyler Murray was the standout performer for Minnesota, throwing for 254 yards and two touchdowns, effectively leading his team to a crucial victory. On the receiving end, Justin Jefferson proved to be a reliable target, racking up 119 receiving yards, while Josh Jacobs of the Packers rushed for an impressive 103 yards, keeping Green Bay competitive throughout the matchup. Defensively, Dallas Turner made a significant impact for the Vikings, contributing 1.5 sacks that helped stifle the Packers' drives. A pivotal moment in the game came when Murray connected with Jefferson for a key touchdown that put Minnesota ahead, allowing their defense to hold off Green Bay's late-game attempts to rally back. As the season unfolds, both teams will look to build on this performance, but for now, the Vikings take the early lead in the NFC North.
