In a surprising start to the 2026 season, the Houston Texans narrowly defeated the Buffalo Bills with a final score of 2-0. The stakes were high as both teams sought to establish early momentum, but it was the Texans who found a way to secure the victory in this low-scoring affair. Caleb Williams led the charge for Houston, throwing for two touchdown passes that ultimately proved decisive, while Jalen Milroe of the Bills put up impressive passing numbers with 255 yards but couldn't find the end zone. On the ground, Jahmyr Gibbs managed 50 rushing yards for Buffalo and Nico Collins stood out in the receiving game with 125 yards, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Texans' defense. Defensively, the Texans made their mark with Talanoa Hufanga leading the charge with six total tackles, while Nik Bonitto contributed significantly with 1.5 sacks, creating pressure that disrupted Buffalo's offensive rhythm. The game's turning point came when the Texans' defense held strong in the red zone, forcing the Bills into costly mistakes that kept them off the scoreboard entirely.
