In a closely contested matchup, the New England Patriots narrowly defeated the Miami Dolphins 23-20 in Week 8 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard, but it was the Patriots who came out on top, pushing their winning streak to three games. Tom Brady led the charge for New England, throwing for 296 yards and finding his favorite target, Ja'Marr Chase, who racked up 116 receiving yards. Meanwhile, Bryce Young of the Dolphins had a solid performance with two touchdown passes, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Travis Etienne Jr. contributed a strong ground game for the Patriots with 69 rushing yards, helping keep the offense balanced. Defensively, the Dolphins were led by Minkah Fitzpatrick, who registered 10 total tackles, but the game’s pivotal moment came late in the fourth quarter. A critical interception by Patrick Surtain gave Miami a chance to tie, but ultimately, they were unable to capitalize, as the Patriots' defense held firm to secure the victory. The ability of New England to respond under pressure proved to be the difference in this tightly-fought battle.
