In a stunning offensive display, the Detroit Lions topped the New York Jets with a final score of 73-45 in Week 3 of the 2026 season. The win not only solidifies Detroit's dominance early in the season but also showcases their explosive firepower, leaving the Jets searching for answers on defense. Jared Goff was nothing short of spectacular, throwing for an astonishing 496 yards and setting a new franchise record with eight touchdown passes. He was ably supported by Jahmyr Gibbs, who rushed for 245 yards, and Jameson Williams, who torched the Jets' secondary with 257 receiving yards. Together, they formed an unstoppable trio that kept the Jets' defense guessing all game long. Defensively, the Lions made key plays that shifted momentum in their favor, with Jack Campbell grabbing an interception that stifled a Jets scoring opportunity. The turning point came in the second quarter, when Detroit's defense forced a turnover deep in Jets territory, allowing Goff to capitalize with another quick touchdown. That sequence effectively put the game out of reach, as the Lions continued to pour it on for the remainder of the afternoon.
