In a commanding display to kick off the 2026 season, the Philadelphia Eagles topped the Washington Commanders 31-14. With both teams looking to make a strong statement, the Eagles showcased their dominance on both sides of the ball, setting the tone for the weeks to come. Jalen Hurts was the star of the show, throwing for 160 yards and three touchdowns, demonstrating his precision and poise in the pocket. However, it was Saquon Barkley who truly stole the spotlight with an explosive performance on the ground, racking up 221 rushing yards and adding 76 receiving yards to his impressive tally, proving to be a dual-threat nightmare for the Commanders' defense. Defensively, the Eagles made crucial plays that shifted momentum in their favor, highlighted by Jalen Carter's sack that disrupted Washington's drives. While Sonny Styles of the Commanders recorded two interceptions, the Eagles' defense was able to limit big plays and maintain control throughout the game, ultimately sealing the victory with a well-rounded team effort.
