In a thrilling season opener, the New England Patriots topped the Seattle Seahawks 23-17, kicking off the 2026 NFL season on a high note. With both teams eager to make a statement, the Patriots managed to secure a crucial victory on the road in Seattle, setting the tone for their campaign ahead. Drake Maye was the standout performer for New England, throwing for 204 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. While the ground game struggled, Omarion Hampton added 28 rushing yards to the mix, but it was Maye's connection in the air that proved decisive. For the Seahawks, Aaron Jones Sr. led the receiving corps with 66 yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Patriots' offensive firepower. Defensively, the Patriots made their presence felt, with Mason Graham recording two sacks to disrupt Seattle's rhythm. Justin Reid stood out as well, leading the team with four total tackles. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Graham's pressure led to a crucial turnover, allowing New England to maintain their lead and secure the win.
