In a tightly contested season opener, the Jacksonville Jaguars topped the New Orleans Saints 14-10, kicking off the 2027 season on a winning note. Both teams came out looking to establish momentum early, but it was the Jaguars who ultimately held off a late Saints push to secure the victory. Trevor Lawrence was the standout performer for Jacksonville, throwing for 260 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to make big plays when it mattered most. Bhayshul Tuten also made a significant impact on the ground, racking up 100 rushing yards and helping to control the tempo of the game. Brian Thomas Jr. contributed with 76 receiving yards, providing a reliable target for Lawrence throughout the contest. Defensively, the Jaguars were relentless, with Travon Walker leading the charge with an impressive six sacks, disrupting the Saints' offensive rhythm. This pressure on the quarterback was a key factor in the game's turning point, as it stifled any chance of a comeback for New Orleans in the final quarter. Kaden Elliss of the Saints did his part with 11 tackles, but it was Jacksonville's defense that ultimately sealed the win, proving pivotal in their season debut.
