In a tightly contested matchup, the Indianapolis Colts held off the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-16 in Week 5 of the 2027 season. This victory not only boosts the Colts' confidence but also puts them in a strong position within the division as they look to solidify their playoff hopes. Daniel Jones led the Colts' offense with two touchdown passes, showcasing his ability to make plays in critical moments. Jonathan Taylor was a force on the ground, racking up 116 rushing yards, while Eric Soto emerged as a key target, amassing 75 receiving yards. Trevor Lawrence, despite his 200 passing yards, struggled to find the end zone, making it difficult for the Jaguars to keep pace. Defensively, the Colts made crucial stops, limiting the Jaguars' scoring opportunities. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Colts' defense forced a turnover on downs, effectively sealing the game. Although Foyesade Oluokun led the Jaguars with eight tackles, it wasn't enough to overcome the Colts' balanced attack and defensive resilience.
