The Houston Texans secured a 24-16 victory over the Carolina Panthers in a crucial Week 5 matchup of the 2027 season. With both teams fighting for playoff positioning, the Texans managed to outlast the Panthers in a tightly contested battle. C.J. Stroud led the charge for Houston, throwing for 216 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to move the ball effectively downfield. Woody Marks contributed significantly on the ground, racking up 70 rushing yards and providing a balanced offensive attack. Despite the loss, Carolina's Jalen Coker was a standout in the air, recording 82 receiving yards and keeping the Panthers competitive. Defensively, the Texans were impactful, with Danielle Hunter leading the way by sacking the quarterback twice, disrupting Carolina's offensive rhythm. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Houston's defense held strong, stifling a potential game-tying drive by the Panthers. Deonte Banks' interception for Carolina kept the pressure on, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Texans' solid performance on both sides of the ball.
