In an exciting matchup, the Carolina Panthers topped the New Orleans Saints with a final score of 35-21, securing their first victory of the season in Week 2. Both teams came into the game looking to establish momentum early in the 2027 season, but it was the Panthers who emerged victorious in front of a spirited home crowd. Bryce Young was the star of the game, throwing for 262 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his growing confidence as the team's leader. Tetairoa McMillan also made a significant impact, accumulating 92 receiving yards and providing a reliable target for Young. Meanwhile, Barry Sanders contributed with 69 rushing yards, helping to balance the Panthers' offensive attack. On the defensive side, the Saints struggled to contain the Panthers' high-powered offense, despite Bryan Bresee leading the way with seven tackles. Carl Granderson made his presence felt with two sacks, but it was Young's efficient passing that ultimately dictated the game's outcome. The turning point came in the second quarter when Young tossed three touchdown passes, opening up a lead that the Saints couldn't overcome.
