In a tightly contested matchup, the San Francisco 49ers narrowly defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 16-14 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications looming, both teams came in looking to solidify their postseason positioning, but it was the 49ers who ultimately emerged victorious in a hard-fought battle. Brock Purdy led the way for San Francisco, throwing for 255 yards, while Mike Evans showcased his receiving prowess with 146 yards and a crucial performance that helped secure the win. Fernando Mendoza contributed for the Raiders, tossing two touchdown passes, but it wasn't enough to overcome the 49ers' balanced offensive effort. Defensively, Fred Warner was a standout for San Francisco with five total tackles, helping to stifle the Raiders' offensive drives. The game’s turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the 49ers' defense held strong, forcing a turnover on downs that allowed them to maintain their slim lead. Despite the Raiders' efforts, including Jeremy Chinn's two interceptions, they couldn't capitalize enough to swing the game in their favor.
