In a dominating performance, the Houston Texans toppled the Los Angeles Chargers 45-14 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. With this victory, the Texans solidified their position in the playoff race, showcasing their offensive prowess against a struggling Chargers defense. C.J. Stroud was the star of the night, throwing for an impressive 384 yards and four touchdowns. His connection with Devontez Walker was particularly potent, as Walker racked up 137 receiving yards, consistently finding space to make big plays. Jaydon Blue contributed significantly on the ground with 71 rushing yards, helping to keep the Chargers' defense on their heels throughout the contest. Defensively, the Texans were relentless, while the Chargers struggled to contain Houston's explosive offense. Although Akheem Mesidor managed to record 1.5 sacks for Los Angeles, it was not enough to shift momentum. The game’s turning point came in the second quarter when Stroud connected with Walker for a 60-yard touchdown, turning a close matchup into a commanding lead that the Texans never relinquished.
