In a tightly contested matchup, the Kansas City Chiefs narrowly defeated the Miami Dolphins 20-17 in Week 3 of the 2026 season. The stakes were high as both teams sought to establish momentum early in the season, but it was the Chiefs who emerged victorious in a battle that showcased resilience and strategic play. Malik Willis led the Dolphins' offensive efforts, throwing for 218 yards and a touchdown, while De'Von Achane made significant contributions on the ground with 103 rushing yards. Jalen Tolbert also played a key role in the passing game, recording 61 receiving yards. Despite their efforts, the Dolphins fell just short as the Chiefs found a way to execute in key moments. Defensively, the Dolphins made their presence felt, with Jordyn Brooks leading the way with 10 tackles and Chop Robinson contributing with a sack. However, it was a critical drive late in the game that turned the tide for the Chiefs, allowing them to maintain their lead and secure the win. The Dolphins will look to regroup and build off their strong individual performances as they move forward in the season.
