In a thrilling Week 2 matchup of the 2026 season, the New England Patriots topped the Pittsburgh Steelers with a final score of 35-21, solidifying their early grip on the AFC. With both teams looking to assert their dominance, the Patriots emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive prowess while the Steelers struggled to keep pace. Drake Maye was the standout performer for New England, throwing for 207 yards and three touchdowns, leading an efficient and explosive passing attack. Kyle Williams was his primary target, racking up 92 receiving yards, while TreVeyon Henderson contributed on the ground with a solid 63 rushing yards. This offensive display proved too much for the Steelers to handle, as they found themselves playing catch-up throughout the game. Defensively, the Patriots were able to disrupt the Steelers' rhythm, with Milton Williams recording a sack and Carlton Davis III snagging an interception to halt a drive. The turning point came in the second quarter when Maye's third touchdown pass extended the Patriots' lead to two scores, leaving the Steelers scrambling for answers. Despite a valiant effort from Payton Wilson, who led the Steelers with three total tackles, New England's defense ultimately held firm, allowing their offense to seal the victory.
