In a commanding performance, the Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Cleveland Browns 31-7 in Week 1 of the 2027 season. With both teams eager to set the tone for the year, the Chargers showcased their offensive firepower while the Browns struggled to keep pace. Justin Herbert led the Chargers with two touchdown passes, effectively orchestrating the offense as they built an insurmountable lead. Darian Mensah of the Browns put up impressive numbers with 336 passing yards, but the lack of scoring opportunities ultimately hindered Cleveland’s efforts. Quinshon Judkins contributed on the ground with 57 rushing yards, while Harold Fannin Jr. stood out in the receiving game with 129 yards, though it was all in a losing cause. Defensively, the Chargers made a significant impact, highlighted by Teair Tart's two sacks, which disrupted Mensah’s rhythm throughout the game.
