In a tightly contested Week 5 matchup, the Seattle Seahawks topped the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 21-10, solidifying their position in the NFC West. The stakes were high as both teams sought to establish momentum early in the 2026 season, but it was Seattle who emerged victorious at home. Sam Darnold led the Seahawks offense with a steady performance, throwing for one touchdown while keeping the chains moving. On the other side, Brock Purdy showcased his aerial prowess with 269 passing yards, but struggled to convert those yards into points. Christian McCaffrey contributed with a solid ground game, rushing for 62 yards, while George Kittle was a standout in the passing game, racking up 111 receiving yards. Defensively, the Seahawks made their presence felt, with Ernest Jones IV recording nine total tackles to lead the charge. Leonard Williams added to the pressure with a key sack, disrupting Purdy's rhythm throughout the game. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Seattle's defense forced a crucial turnover, allowing the offense to capitalize and extend their lead, ultimately securing the win.
