In a thrilling season opener, the Denver Broncos narrowly defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 28-24, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting 2026 campaign. Both teams showcased their strengths, but it was the Broncos who came through in the clutch to secure the victory on the road. Anthony Richardson Sr was the standout performer for Denver, throwing for 286 yards and two touchdowns, demonstrating both poise and precision under pressure. Meanwhile, Bhayshul Tuten added a critical ground game, racking up 85 rushing yards that helped keep the Chiefs' defense on its heels. For Kansas City, Rome Odunze was a bright spot, accumulating 134 receiving yards, though it wasn't enough to push his team over the top. Defensively, the Broncos were led by Mansoor Delane, who recorded 10 total tackles, providing a solid anchor for the unit. The game’s turning point came late in the fourth quarter, when the Broncos' defense stifled a crucial Chiefs drive, forcing a turnover on downs and allowing Denver to run out the clock and secure the win. With both teams showing promise, the rivalry is sure to heat up as the season progresses.
