In a dominant season opener, the Cincinnati Bengals topped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 45-21, showcasing their offensive firepower and sending a strong message for the 2026 season. With both teams looking to establish momentum early, the Bengals quickly demonstrated their superiority on both sides of the ball. Leading the charge for Cincinnati was Patrick Mahomes, who threw for an impressive 330 yards and four touchdowns, connecting with receiver Dalton Schultz for 110 yards. On the other side, Velus Jones Jr. stood out for Tampa Bay, racking up 186 rushing yards, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with the Bengals' high-octane offense. Cincinnati's defense played a crucial role in the victory, highlighted by Nate Hobbs' two interceptions that halted any potential Buccaneers rallies. Bryan Bresee also contributed with a sack, further disrupting Tampa Bay's rhythm. The game turned decisively in the Bengals' favor when Mahomes orchestrated a rapid drive late in the first half, extending their lead and ultimately sealing the win.
