In a thrilling Week 3 matchup of the 2026 season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers narrowly defeated the Minnesota Vikings with a final score of 31-24. This victory keeps the Buccaneers in the hunt for playoff positioning, while the Vikings will need to regroup as they look to salvage their season. Baker Mayfield led the charge for Tampa Bay, throwing for three touchdowns and providing the offensive spark his team needed. Bucky Irving complemented the passing game with a stellar performance on the ground, racking up 132 rushing yards. On the other side, Kyler Murray showcased his skills with an impressive 347 passing yards, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win as he targeted T.J. Hockenson for 119 receiving yards. Defensively, the Buccaneers made key plays that shifted momentum in their favor. Rueben Bain Jr. was a standout with 1.5 sacks, applying pressure on Murray throughout the game, while Tykee Smith's interception proved crucial in stalling a Vikings drive late in the fourth quarter. The turning point came when the Buccaneers capitalized on that turnover, extending their lead and ultimately holding off a late-game surge from Minnesota.
